What happens next Big Book

Jesus has shown that he is the Promised King, the one who God sent to fix the brokenness of our world. After Jesus dies and comes to life again, everything changes for the faithful followers of Jesus. This term we will learn about what happened next for faithful followers of King Jesus.

This Big Book is designed to be printed on A3 paper and shared with your class. Gluing each page onto A3 card will make the Big Book last longer. You can use this Big Book by adding one page week by week to revise the lessons you've previously taught or you can print the whole book all at once and read it each week to your class. There are also class activities to complete on each page.

Acts 1.1–11

After Jesus dies and is raised to life, Jesus goes around to everyone showing that he really is alive. But then another amazing thing happens. Jesus goes away in a very surprising way.

Acts 2.42–47

After Jesus is taken up into heaven, the disciples receive the promised gift of the Holy Spirit and amazing things happen. The people in the crowd listen as Peter tells them the Very Good News that Jesus is the Promised King. Many, many people become followers of Jesus. God is growing his people.

Jesus’ faithful followers spend their time praying, listening to the apostles teaching them about Jesus, hanging out together and eating together. They are also very thankful for everything God has done. Jesus’ faithful followers tell others the Very Good News about Jesus.

Acts 9.1–19

The church grew and grew. More people recognised and received Jesus as their King. But some people were not happy about this. Some people made life very difficult for Jesus’ faithful followers. One person who did not like Christians was a man called Saul.

When Paul becomes a follower of Jesus, everything changes. He used to put faithful followers in prison. Now, Paul travels to different places so that he can tell people about Jesus. The people who follow Jesus meet together as the church. There are churches everywhere.
