Who is Jesus Big Book

In the Bible, we find out that the way God saves his people is through a man called Jesus. But Jesus is not just another man! This term, we will learn all about who Jesus is and what he does.

This Big Book is designed to be printed on A3 paper and shared with your class. Gluing each page onto A3 card will make the Big Book last longer. You can use this Big Book by adding one page week by week to revise the lessons you've previously taught or you can print the whole book all at once and read it each week to your class. There are also class activities to complete on each page.

Luke 1.26–38; 2.1–21

Long before Jesus was born, God promised to send a special King. This King would come from the family of faithful King David. This King would rule forever. Jesus is this Promised King.

Luke 3.21–4.13

Lots of people are getting baptised by John the Baptist. Jesus, the Promised King, gets baptised too. But when Jesus gets baptised, we find out that he is the Son of God.

Luke 5.1–11

Jesus didn't come into our world to have a holiday. Jesus came to call people to follow him. This is what his disciples do. And Jesus wants us to follow him too.

Luke 5.12–16

Leprosy is a terrible disease. People were scared about catching leprosy. But Jesus touches a man with leprosy. The man is healed and Jesus doesn't get sick. Jesus is the King of sickness.

Luke 5.17–26

The religious leaders know that the only person who can forgive our sins and disobedience is God. But Jesus forgives people's sins too. Jesus can make people’s bodies better and their hearts.

Luke 15.1–10

Why does Jesus tell stories about lost things that are found? Because Jesus is the one who goes looking for the lost ones. Jesus is the Great Rescuer.

Luke 22.7–27

Jesus is not like any of the kings of our world. Jesus is the King who serves. He is a servant King who will die for his people.

Luke 23.26–49 + Romans 5.8

The terrible day comes when Jesus dies. But Jesus died when we should have died. Jesus died for all of us so that we don't have to die.

Luke 24.13–35 + John 3.16

After Jesus dies, he is buried in a tomb. But three days later, Jesus comes alive again. The best thing is that Jesus also gives new life to his faithful followers.

Acts 1.1–11

After Jesus dies and comes alive again, he sees the disciples. But then Jesus goes up into the sky. The disciples are told that one day, Jesus will come back again.
