The Poems Big Book

The Wise Words in God’s Old Words, the Old Testament, teach us about how people long ago faithfully lived with God as their Great King. There are many different types of writing including songs, prayers, poems and sayings that can help us to faithfully follow God, our Great King.

This Big Book is designed to be printed on A3 paper and shared with your class. Gluing each page onto A3 card will make the Big Book last longer. You can use this Big Book by adding one page week by week to revise the lessons you've previously taught or you can print the whole book all at once and read it each week to your class. There are also class activities to complete on each page.

Psalm 1

How do we know what a faithful person looks like? We look in the Bible. Psalm 1 tells us how faithful people live.

Psalm 23

God, the Great King, takes special care of his people. He cares for them just like a shepherd cares for his sheep. King David wrote a poem that shows how God cares for his people.

Psalm 139.1–16

Even though God is the Great King of heaven and earth, he still cares about the people he has made—that’s you and me! God watches us and watches over us. He knows us and loves us.

What is wisdom? And how do we get it? The great news is that the Bible has lots to say about wisdom and how we should get it.

In God’s Old Words, the Old Testament, God doesn’t just send messengers to his people. God also sends messages to other countries. God sends Jonah to the city of Nineveh to give them a message.
