Jesus goes up

After Jesus dies and is raised to life, Jesus goes around to everyone showing that he really is alive. But then another amazing thing happens. Jesus goes away in a very surprising way.

God's Holy Spirit comes down

After Jesus is taken up into the sky, the disciples wait in Jerusalem, just like Jesus told them to. Jesus has told them that God the Father is going to give them a gift. No one knows what this gift is until the day when another amazing thing happens.

John was one of Jesus’ disciples. After Jesus was taken up to heaven, he became an apostle. This means that John had the special job of telling other people about everything he had seen Jesus do. John wrote some books in God’s New Words, the New Testament. He wanted people to keep on faithfully following Jesus.
